Jammu, Sept 30: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has announced a significant change in school timings for both government and private institutions across the division, set to take effect from October. This change aims to accommodate seasonal variations and improve student attendance.
According to the order, schools in the Summer Zone will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting October. However, the schedule will shift to 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM in November as winter approaches. Notably, schools within the Jammu Municipal Corporation limits and nearby urban areas will maintain the earlier timings from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
For the Winter Zone, the revised school timings will see institutions open from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM beginning October 1. The change aims to support students and teachers as weather conditions begin to influence daily life.
The Directorate has stressed the importance of adhering to the new schedule, warning that strict action will be taken against any institutions that deviate from these mandated timings. Educational officials believe that consistency in school timings can foster better educational outcomes.
This initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring a structured learning environment. Parents and teachers alike have expressed support for the revised timings, acknowledging that adapting to seasonal changes is essential.
