KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 20: In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare access, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, inaugurated a newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Devsar, Kulgam. The inauguration took place today, with the presence of local MLA Peerzada Feroz Ahmad and senior officials from the district administration and healthcare sectors.
The establishment of this new PHC represents the government’s dedication to improving health infrastructure in remote and rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir. This new facility will provide local residents with enhanced access to quality healthcare services in their vicinity.
During the inauguration, Minister Itoo emphasized that the new PHC is designed to serve the local population effectively. She stated, “This health centre will greatly benefit the residents here, ensuring they have access to essential healthcare services without the burden of traveling far.”
She reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding health infrastructure across rural areas, declaring that no community should be deprived of fundamental medical services. “Our vision is clear. We aim to ensure that every corner of Jammu and Kashmir receives adequate healthcare facilities,” she stated.
Minister Itoo highlighted numerous initiatives undertaken by the government within the healthcare sector. She urged health staff at the centre to uphold dedication and compassion while serving the community, emphasizing the critical role they play in the health system.
“Under the guidance of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, our administration prioritizes transparency and accountability in healthcare,” Itoo noted. “We short not only on improving existing services but also on delivering equitable healthcare access to all citizens.”
Adding to the significance of the day, MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroz Ahmad, commended the establishment of the new PHC. He remarked that it will significantly enhance the quality of healthcare provision in the region. “This is a pivotal moment for our community. We are witnessing growth in our healthcare services. I assure the residents that I will continue my efforts to develop our hospitals and schools further,” Ahmad stated.
Minister Sakeena Itoo also took time to interact with the local community. She listened attentively to their concerns regarding local developmental issues. “I assure you that your genuine concerns will be addressed with urgency,” she assured the community members.
