Kupwara, September 22: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse (IAS), today flagged off a group of beneficiaries from the DC Office Complex for an exposure-cum-training visit to the Government Sheep Breeding Farm, Poshnar, Rajwar Kupwara. This initiative, organized by the Department of Sheep Husbandry, falls under the SEWA PARV program aimed at empowering local sheep breeders.
During the flag-off ceremony, DC Suse praised the department’s efforts. He assured beneficiaries of complete support in adopting modern sheep rearing methods. He highlighted the significance of livestock in generating livelihoods and enhancing incomes in rural areas, a vital aspect as the community looks towards sustainable development.
Dr. Ishrat, the District Sheep Husbandry Officer, shared insights about the programme.
