Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a man with an illegal revolver in Samba district on Saturday. Munna Singh, a local resident, faces charges under the Arms Act following his apprehension.
Police officials stated that Singh, a resident of Sohal village in Akhnoor, had been living in Samba. He was caught near JDA Colony in Bari Brahmana while heading towards Kikri Morh from Data Talab.
The police noticed Singh acting suspiciously and decided to investigate. Upon seeing the police, he attempted to evade capture but officers quickly chased and apprehended him.
During a thorough personal search, police found a revolver in his possession. Singh could not provide any valid license or authorization for carrying the weapon, prompting the authorities to take immediate action.
A case has been registered at the Bari Brahmana police station, where officers have initiated further investigations. This incident underscores ongoing efforts by Jammu and Kashmir Police to curb illegal arms possession and enhance public safety.
